ABOUT US
The Global Alliance
The Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty represents an innovative approach to accelerate efforts to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1 (No Poverty) and 2 (Zero Hunger).
It aims to provide continuous political drive and foster collective action, building synergies with pre-existing initiatives to combat hunger and poverty. Its mission is to facilitate mobilization and enhance alignment between national and international support, including public and private financial resources as well as knowledge-sharing, to enable the large-scale implementation of evidence-based policy instruments and programs, led by and owned by countries, centred around those most affected by extreme poverty and hunger and people in vulnerable contexts.
The Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty welcomes the participation of countries, organizations, and platforms, aiming to leverage innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based decision-making to support the implementation of policies and programs.
- Our Mission
Our mission is to support and accelerate efforts to eradicate hunger and poverty while reducing inequalities and contributing to revitalising global partnerships for sustainable development.

The 2030 Sprints are the widest and most ambitious collective attempt ever to turn the tide and finally end hunger and extreme poverty by focusing on scaling up interventions with a proven track-record in uplifting the world’s poorest and most vulnerable populations.
Supports pathways for 100 million people to exit poverty sustainably.
Focuses on supporting 200 million women and children through integrated services.
Works to scale up investment in small-scale farming to improve productivity, incomes and resilience.
Promotes affordable water solutions to improve food security in vulnerable communities.
POLICY BASKET
The Policy Basket is the heart of the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty. It provides a menu of policy instruments and programs that can be applied as-is or adapted to specific contexts, with financial and technical support from Alliance members upon request. The policy instruments and programs are selected based on the following criteria: a clear scope; implementable/implemented by governments; evidence-based; primarily reaching out to persons experiencing hunger and poverty; and contributing primarily to reach SDGs 1 and 2.
The Policy Basket is the cornerstone of the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty. It offers members a curated menu of policy instruments and program that can be applied as-is or adapted to specific contexts, with financial and technical support from Alliance members upon request.
