About
At the heart of the Global Alliance’s mission to end hunger and poverty are national‑scale programmes, owned and managed by governments, and shaped by their own priorities and strategies. Drawing on the broad evidence base of our Policy Basket, the Alliance accompanies member governments in the design of high‑impact programmes, aligning financial and knowledge support from across its membership around them to deliver results at scale.
HOW IT WORKS
Country request and assessment
Governments submit a support request based on solutions in the Alliance Policy Basket and work with the Support Mechanism to define needs and scope of requested support.
Programme planning
Governments work with the Support Mechanism to develop pre-plans for national-scale programmes based on proven approaches documented in our Policy Basket.
Matchmaking
Through strategic outreach and formal Expressions of Interest, Alliance members propose financial or technical and knowledge support for country programmes.
Implementation planning
Through a participatory process, Alliance members agree on an implementation roadmap defining different roles and responsibilities in support of national programmes.
Formalization, implementation and learning
Alliance member countries and partners formalize contracts, agreements and other bilateral or trilateral arrangements, all guided by the Implementation Roadmap, and jointly implement the selected programmes, with lessons learned feeding back into the Policy Basket for the benefit of all members.
Collective Action at Work
Building on commitments made through the 2030 Sprints, a growing group of countries is working with other Alliance members to advance large-scale programmes against hunger and poverty.
Country Request Form
This form constitutes the first step for Member States to request support from the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty and is intended exclusively for use by the official focal points of national governments that are members of the Alliance. By submitting this request, Alliance members may activate the Support Mechanism to facilitate programme implementation planning and matchmaking, with the objective of mobilizing technical, financial, and knowledge support from other Global Alliance members.
Member governments that are unsure of their country’s designated focal point are invited to contact: [email protected]
