El programa equipar\u00e1 a 1.300 escuelas primarias y secundarias con sistemas de recogida de agua de lluvia e iluminaci\u00f3n solar, creando las condiciones para comidas escolares adaptadas al clima, huertos escolares y soluciones de producci\u00f3n de alimentos. El programa se inspira en el programa \u201cCisternas\u201d de Brazil, el mayor y m\u00e1s exitoso programa de resiliencia clim\u00e1tica jam\u00e1s aplicado en ese pa\u00eds. Mediante el uso de tecnolog\u00edas de captaci\u00f3n de agua de bajo coste que pueden implementarse utilizando materiales y mano de obra de origen local, y que tambi\u00e9n pueden aprenderse socialmente y reproducirse de forma espont\u00e1nea en hogares y peque\u00f1as explotaciones agr\u00edcolas, Maji-Plus espera transformar las vidas de ni\u00f1os y familias vulnerables, y de las ni\u00f1as, proporcionando acceso al agua durante todo el a\u00f1o en las regiones ASAL al tiempo que impulsa las econom\u00edas locales.  Al integrar la educaci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola y nutricional en la vida escolar, convertir\u00e1 las escuelas en centros de sostenibilidad y desarrollo local. Alineada con las estrategias m\u00e1s amplias de inclusi\u00f3n social del Kenya, el programa nacional de comidas escolares y los objetivos nacionales de adaptaci\u00f3n al clima, la iniciativa tambi\u00e9n busca mejorar los resultados de aprendizaje y nutrici\u00f3n, en particular para las ni\u00f1as, al tiempo que fortalece la resiliencia, la seguridad alimentaria y la reducci\u00f3n de la pobreza en las regiones
