Board of Champions’ decision to fast-track program implementation in a select number of countries \u2014 identified based on their expressions of interest in the Sprints 2030 initiative and\/or their Statement of Commitment \u2014 the interim Support Team of the Global Alliance has begun direct outreach to those countries to gather detailed information on their specific needs. This critical effort is being carried out with the invaluable support of Board members, who are actively assisting in liaising with national focal points. The first set of high-level implementation plans is expected to be presented at the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), which will be held in Seville from June 30 to July 3, 2025.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"background-color: #ffffff\">In parallel, Global Alliance members are finalizing a guidance note for countries on the integration of climate-sensitive anti-hunger and anti-poverty initiatives into their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). This guidance \u2014 another initiative mandated by the Board of Champions \u2014 draws upon the work of the Universal Social Protection (USP 2030) Working Group on Social Protection and Climate Change, as well as the broader intersection between climate change and the Global Alliance\u2019s mission to eradicate hunger and poverty (SDGs 1 and 2). The Global Alliance\u2019s Policy Basket \u2014 comprising a suite of scalable programs that simultaneously address poverty, food security, and climate resilience \u2014 offers concrete policy instruments that countries can integrate into their NDCs and implement with support from the Alliance.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"background-color: #ffffff\">The Interim Support Team is also preparing for the first meeting of the Core Group of the Board of Champions, scheduled for April 7. This meeting will serve as a key milestone in reviewing progress on the four strategic priorities identified by the Board of Champions in its first meeting in February: accelerating implementation at the country level, improving resource alignment, embedding anti-hunger and anti-poverty measures in climate action, and amplifying the Alliance\u2019s presence in global policy forums.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"background-color: #ffffff\">The Global Alliance is also seeking top talent to join its Support Mechanism. Board of Champions’ decision to fast-track program implementation in a select number of countries \u2014 identified based on their expressions of interest in the Sprints 2030 initiative and\/or their Statement of Commitment \u2014 the interim Support Team of the Global Alliance has begun direct outreach to those countries to gather detailed information on their specific needs. This critical effort is being carried out with the invaluable support of Board members, who are actively assisting in liaising with national focal points. The first set of high-level implementation plans is expected to be presented at the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), which will be held in Seville from June 30 to July 3, 2025.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"background-color: #ffffff\">In parallel, Global Alliance members are finalizing a guidance note for countries on the integration of climate-sensitive anti-hunger and anti-poverty initiatives into their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). This guidance \u2014 another initiative mandated by the Board of Champions \u2014 draws upon the work of the Universal Social Protection (USP 2030) Working Group on Social Protection and Climate Change, as well as the broader intersection between climate change and the Global Alliance\u2019s mission to eradicate hunger and poverty (SDGs 1 and 2). The Global Alliance\u2019s Policy Basket \u2014 comprising a suite of scalable programs that simultaneously address poverty, food security, and climate resilience \u2014 offers concrete policy instruments that countries can integrate into their NDCs and implement with support from the Alliance.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"background-color: #ffffff\">The Interim Support Team is also preparing for the first meeting of the Core Group of the Board of Champions, scheduled for April 7. This meeting will serve as a key milestone in reviewing progress on the four strategic priorities identified by the Board of Champions in its first meeting in February: accelerating implementation at the country level, improving resource alignment, embedding anti-hunger and anti-poverty measures in climate action, and amplifying the Alliance\u2019s presence in global policy forums.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"background-color: #ffffff\">The Global Alliance is also seeking top talent to join its Support Mechanism. The application period for most positions has closed, and a very high number of submissions were received. FAO, as the host organization, will proceed with the selection process.
