The Alliance’s Knowledge Pillar includes reputable  institutions dedicated to promoting knowledge generation, technical assistance, and voluntary knowledge sharing on mutually agreed terms among Alliance members.

Approval of the Statements of Commitment

Membership is formalized through the issuance of tailored Statements of Commitment. Depending on their nature and capacities, members join one or more of the three Pillars of the Alliance – National, Financial and Knowledge.

These Statements of Commitment are, by nature, flexible documents and can be updated with new commitments at any time after their publication. However, the basic commitments cannot be withdrawn unless the entity also chooses to leave the Alliance.

In the case of non-governmental entities, membership is subject to approval by consensus of the Alliance’s Board of Champions. Both the private sector and local civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, networks, or collectives can be involved with the Financial and Knowledge Pillars, when appropriate and in alignment with the guidance and approval of the government of the country in question.
