Yelemat Tirufat Plus

Description

Yelemat Tirufat Plus is the Government of Ethiopia’s approach to make the livestock sector more productive, inclusive, and resilient. It builds on the Commodity Villages model of an ongoing programme, which has already raised yields in milk, poultry, honey, and fish production. Its second phase will expand to 8 regions and 200 districts, reaching 5 million small‑scale farmers. The programme is anchored in Ethiopia’s ten‑year agricultural strategy and aims to strengthen national and export markets by improving genetics, feed systems, veterinary services and cold‑chain infrastructure. It will also integrate inclusive finance, improved market access and stronger participation by women and young people.
