National Policy for Social Protection and Promotion

Description

Under the National Policy for Social Protection and Promotion, the Government of Haiti is planning a programme to expand cash transfers and food aid for vulnerable households affected by displacement, insecurity and chronic food shortages. The initiative will combine emergency food assistance, support for internally displaced persons, unconditional cash transfers to strengthen resilience, and youth cash‑for‑work and training. It also aims to build on existing government and international efforts against hunger and poverty, including by improving national digital payments, monitoring and evaluation and registration mechanisms.
