As part of the Showcase of Highlighted Results & Solutions at the UN Climate Change Conference – COP30, the roundtable “Mobilising Climate Financing for Social Protection and Sustainable Food Systems” will take place on 18 November 2025, from 10:30 to 11:30 (room to be announced).
The event, organized by the Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS), the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, the Global Network Against Food Crisis, and the Taskforce Linking Adaptive Social Protection and Climate Financing, will explore how major climate funds can further support policies that fight hunger and poverty while building more sustainable and resilient food systems.
Speakers include:
- Timmy Dooley, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Ireland
- Gaia Hasse, Project Coordinator, LaClima
- Richard Choularton, Director, Climate Resilience Service, World Food Programme (WFP)
Targeted to multilateral climate funds, national governments, and philanthropies, the session will present a mapping of adaptation projects linked to social protection and food systems, encouraging greater integration of social and environmental goals in climate finance portfolios.
