Targeted Social Protection for Food Security and Nutrition

Description

Given pressure on Cuba’s State-regulated Family Food Basket, its School Feeding Programme and other social protection measures in recent years, this programme aims to ensure more stable access to nutritious food for nearly 584,000 vulnerable people in the Eastern provinces. Through modernized social registries and digital systems, the programme will improve identification of at-risk households for programme support. It will also expand food and cash-based assistance, enhance economic and social inclusion opportunities, and strengthen the infrastructure, equipment and capacities of social protection institutions.
