The President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ilan Goldfajn, announced investments of US$ 5.8 billion for the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, raising the total mobilized to approximately US$ 10 billion since 2024.
Goldfajn highlighted that, in addition to the funds mobilized, the IDB is contributing to the creation of an integrated financing structure capable of helping countries better align resources with their national priorities and accelerate efforts to reduce hunger and poverty.
The announcement was made in Rome, where Goldfajn met with Renato Domith Godinho, Director of the Global Alliance Support Mechanism, based at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The mechanism works to support countries in articulating and implementing partnerships aimed at combating hunger and poverty.
