The Global Alliance and the path to achieving the 2030 Agenda

In this op-ed for El Diario, Minister José Manuel Albares of Spain and Minister Wellington Dias of Brazil describe how progress to end hunger and poverty can be accelerate in the next four years before 2030.

There are barely four years left to meet the commitments set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Time is running out, and the challenge is immense. Of the 139 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for which trend data is available, only 36% are on track or showing moderate progress, according to the United Nations. Despite the progress made, there is a real risk of reaching 2030 without having fulfilled a significant portion of what was agreed upon by the 193 UN Member States.
