The Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty invites qualified professionals to support regional policy and governance efforts hosted by FAO to end hunger and poverty.

The interim coordination of the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty is pleased to announce a new vacancy for a Policy Officer (Regional Liaison) to join the Support Mechanism hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This fixed-term position, based in Bangkok, Thailand, offers a unique opportunity to contribute to regional policy and governance work aimed at eradicating hunger and poverty.
The Policy Officer (Regional Liaison) will provide leadership and operational support for results-based policy assistance in Asia and the Pacific region. This role is key to strengthening partnerships, promoting policy dialogue, and supporting Global Alliance member countries in advancing sustainable agriculture, food security, and social protection.
Key qualifications include:
- Advanced university degree in political sciences, economics, sociology, food security, nutrition, sustainable agriculture, or related fields
- At least five years of experience in policy advice and public analysis related to social protection, poverty eradication, food and nutrition security, or rural development
- Proficiency in English and working knowledge of another FAO official language
- Commitment to the goals of the Global Alliance and a proactive, collaborative approach
