Join a growing global effort to build a world free of hunger and poverty
The Global Alliance invites qualified professionals to join its international consultant rosters to support member-led efforts to end hunger and poverty. Hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Alliance’s Support Mechanism works closely with governments, international organizations, development banks, philanthropic organizations and civil society to help translate political commitment into national‑scale action.
Two calls for Expressions of Interest are currently open for inclusion in the Alliance’s roster of consultants. Successful applicants will be considered for short‑term consultancy assignments, deployed as needs arise across the Alliance’s work under its national implementation, financing and knowledge pillars. Assignments may be home‑based or linked to one of the Support Mechanism offices, depending on operational needs.
Governance and Membership Specialist
The Governance and Membership Specialist roster will support the Alliance’s governance framework and engagement with its diverse and growing membership. Consultants may be called upon to contribute to the functioning of governance bodies, strengthen coordination arrangements, and support effective participation by members from different regions and stakeholder groups. This roster is suited to professionals with experience in governance, institutional coordination and multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Application deadline: 17 Mar 2026
Country and Policy Support Specialist
The Country and Policy Support Specialist roster will contribute to the Alliance’s national and knowledge pillars. Rostered consultants may be engaged to support stakeholder mapping, matchmaking with Alliance members providing financial or technical support, or in-country support to ministries implementing national programmes. Consultants may also support the curation and use of the Alliance’s Policy Basket, a menu of proven policy instruments that can be adapted to national or subnational contexts at the request of members.
Application deadline: 23 Mar 2026
How the rosters work
Both calls aim to establish a pool of qualified experts who can be mobilized for short‑term consultancy assignments ranging from a few weeks up to eleven months, depending on needs and available resources. Inclusion in the roster does not guarantee an immediate assignment but allows the Alliance to rapidly engage expertise as priorities emerge.
